My opponent and I have already attempted to resolve this debate once before, in person, but failed to reach a conclusion. This time, we are to leave no stone un-turned in our quest to find out who is better.

First round is acceptance.
Second round lays out your initial argument.
Third and fourth rounds are for arguments and counter arguments.
Fifth round is for closing comments.

I accept your feeble attempt to defend Thor. It's only because you have a crush on Chris Hemsworth!

Let's keep this as clean as possible, shall we?
First of all, let us examine Thor's cannon abilities, using the most recent movie as our baseline. Thor can fly at supersonic speeds, hit with enough force to obliterate cars in an instant, and can command the weather, including wind, rain and lightning. His hammer, Mjolnir, is forged from the core of a dying star, and only he may wield it. No-one else can pick it up. On top of this, he has telekinetic command over his weapon, able to cast out and summon it back at will. Finally, he is almost indestructible, and has survived going toe-to-toe with the Hulk, Iron Man and an entire army of aliens... twice.
Purely looking at the hammer and we can begin to understand how powerful Thor is. A dying star is often called a neutron star, where the star has collapsed in on itself so much that even the smallest portion of its mass (like a hammer) can weigh a million tonnes on earth. Being hit with this sort of weapon at the speed Thor is capable of moving would be cataclysmic, utterly annihilating whatever it hits.
Thor also has the ability to conjure tornadoes, as demonstrated in his debut film. Tornadoes are capable of generating wind speeds in excess of 500 mph, and not much can evade that kind of power. As for the lightning, any physicist will tell you that electricity, like the rest of the electromagnetic spectrum, travels at the speed of light. Since nothing can beat the speed of light, this makes Thor's lightning attacks unavoidable.
To finish my opening argument, I shall point out that Thor has survived being stabbed, shot and blown up multiple times with barely a mark on his skin. This is a testament to his endurance, showing that he can take hits like no-one else can.
One final point of note is that even when he lost all of his powers, he was able to single handedly take out an entire squad of special forces, a prime example of his natural combat prowess.
I shall now hear my opponents claims of Spider Man's abilities and prowess. Please bear in mind that you may not use multiple cannons. You must stick to a single continuity.

A crush is clean. Don't worry, I don't judge you for it lol.
Okay I will stop now.
For my argument, I will be using the tobey maguire Spider-Man.
First of all, he has superhuman speed, strength and the ability to climb on walls. This means he is less man"ge ramble than Thor, but if the films are anything to go by, he is hugely more agile, and Thor relies on brute force, while Spider-Man has stealth as an advantage.
The tobey maguire Spider-Man also has no web-shooters, and produces his own webs. He has no issue with running out of webs, and can use his shooters as long as he can move his hand into the correct position.
Spider-Man also has a spider sense. This gives him an ability to pre-empt attacks and doge even those considered unavoidable to anybody else.
Spider-Man has survived being stabbed, falling several stories, explosions, and being beaten heavily by a giant sandstone.
He has fought countless superhuman enemies, and has never needed to actively kill a single one of them. Two walked into their deaths, and one was a dodged attack.
Although without natural combat ability, he is a genius and therefore much more intelligent than Thor.

Also Thor's hammer can be picked up by other things.
-in Avengers Assemble, the hammer does not affect the flight pattern of the carrier ship they are on when he drops it on Hulk's hand
-Thor can be killed like any human. He is a descendent of his parents of which his mother died by a single stab wound. He is also seriously debilitated by chest stabs from mere knives.

Spidey is a genius, he is faster, and has the ability to pre-counter attack.
He also has webs.
