None of Subaru's cars can even hope to match the mighty, technologically advanced GT-R. Although it is around eight years old, the GT-R is still one of the quickest, most advanced cars in production. There is a reason that in the automotive world, it is nicknamed "Godzilla". Can a Subaru lap the Nurburgring in 7:08.68? The WRX STi comes in at 7:55, about 47 seconds slower than the GT-R. Most importantly, the GT-R's advanced technology will likely make its way into Nissan's more pedestrian cars. Race car technology is now very common in street cars. For example, push-button ignition and disc-brakes were first found in experimental race cars. This trend will surely continue onward, and we may soon see cars built of carbon fiber, or cars extracting more than 500 horsepower out of a V6. The WRX, on the other hand, is less advanced and uses modern preexisting technology, albeit in a layout similar to the GT-R's - front-engined, all-wheel drive, and extracting relatively large amounts of power from a small engine.
Subaru only makes AWD only vehicles (excluding the BRZ with is RWD only). Nissan makes FWD, RWD and AWD vehicles. Subaru has won WRC 3 times but in that whole series, 47 times. My mom owns a 2004 Subaru Forester 2.5 XS Eddie Bauer Edition. She owned a 1980's Nissan Sentra, but it stopped working after 5 years. Subaru is VERY dog friendly. Subies are actually under ranked considering how good they are. Next round: OFF ROAD WORTHY OR NOT!
Several problems with your argument:
"Subaru only makes AWD only vehicles" - What is that supposed to prove? AWD does have advantages, but other configurations have different advantages. The fact that Subaru is AWD only proves nothing.
"Subaru has won WRC 3 times" - Nissan has victories in other motorsports. Most notably, the Skyline GT-R had 50 victories between 1969-72 (1).
"She owned a 1980's Nissan Sentra, but it stopped working after 5 years" - All brands have their lemons. Consumer Reports ranked the Sentra's reliability as "better than average" in 1985, so I'm sure that your mom's car was defective.
"Subaru is VERY dog friendly" - Depends on your definition of "dog friendly". Nissan has several larger cars that should suit dogs just fine - 10 large models, in fact.
Also, there is no next round. PM me if you want to continue debating this. Good luck.
Reasons for voting decision: Pro forfeited 3 out of 5 debate rounds, this greatly reduced the impact of their arguments, as they were not followed up. Pro also ignored all arguments made by Con in the 2nd round, and the arguments that Pro did make in their last round were all refuted successfully by Con.
