In my opinion cheerleading should be good, because who wants to watching bad cheerleading? I know I don't.

But enough about me, let's talk about you. Why would you want cheerleading to be bad? Possibly you prefer inferior quality or simply have lower standards. That could in part explain why you forfeited your turn. However, there must be more to the story. And since you're not around to tell your story, it leaves me to fill in the blanks.

Several months back, in the autumn of 2015, the new school year began. You were a new transfer to West Hampton Girl School Academy. You showed up on the first day of school in your brand new flats, a well ironed blouse, braces and an ambitious new attitude. This was the year you were going to join the popular girls at the lunch table. After all, you had just become a woman. And you knew that growing confidence in your chest was more than just unabashed optimism, it was anatomy with a healthy dose of genetics. You knew the other girls would look at you differently here - now. And besides, they knew nothing of your past.

This was your third Private Academy since middle school and your third attempt to break in with a coveted popular's girls clique. And besides, no one at this school knew anything of your past - you reminded yourself, repeatedly, in your head. They knew nothing of your obsession with Mr. Tanembaum - how you'd linger outside his classroom after school, how you feverishly scribbled his name repeatedly inside all of your notebooks, the fact that you collected his hair and toenail clippings, the time you followed him home and stared inside his windows, the time you approached him outside school and offered to...

No, they didn't know about that. How could they?

This year, this would be different. This was the year that you would become a cheerleader! You had been secretly practicing all summer at home. using old loofas for pom pops. You were performing your own choreographed routines for an audience of stuffed animals and my little pony figurines. They screamed wildly after every practice and they were beginning to screen louder, cheering for your, cheering for your cheerleading, your confidence was building. You could hear the CareBears and the Cabbage Patch kids screaming your name. Getting louder. And Louder. You asked them if they were ready. And after several lengthy conversations they told you it was time. It was time for you to put on a show. They were always so supportive. And they'd be there coaching you through it all.

And when the time came. Day 1 in your new school. The day that you knew you needed to make your best impression, to establish yourself as the hot new recruit all the popular girl's would be begging to eat lunch with...

Well, let's not talk about that. It wasn't good. It was actually pretty darn bad. Bad cheerleading. And the school didn't want it. You knew you'd never live down that humiliating audition. Just like you would never live down your obsession with Mr. Tanenbaum. Or how they locked him away. Or how they made him register on that awful list.

If only the world wanted something different. If only the world wanted: BAD cheerleading.

But I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news here and shatter your world just a little more. The world really only wants good cheerleading. Cheerleading should be good.

That's disappointing. I was rather looking forward to you reading my last argument.

Well, I suppose... You failed to provide a burden of proof or whatever other cliche phrases people like to toss around here. And I'm gonna go have beer.

Good day, sir.

Reasons for voting decision: I've got to side with Pro on this one. The one sentence Con wrote had a spelling error. Con also failed to show up for rounds 2 and 3. I was hoping Pro would delve more into what Con was wearing... Does Con have to have braces too? Well, I guess so. Con is after all for bad cheerleading, and a cheerleader with braces is a little too flashy. Pro did imply Con has boobs now, so I've got to give the edge there. I can't wait for the end of 157 days to find out who wins this.

Reasons for voting decision: Before the debate and after, I saw no reason for cheerleading to be bad. Right gets the conduct award for participating in all three arguments. Right had better S&G, actually using compete sentences. Left wrote ind fragment and messed that little bit up.
