I don't believe we should have credit scores if we don't have work scores. This country is so revolved money and power they forget to think about things that matter, things that created this country, HARD WORK. Our scores should be based on work we do, and the quality of work, and how we persevered. Everyone should be rated on their job performance, and if you have a bad score there, it will be hard for you to get another job, loan, and...... That way money doesn't buy happiness, community involvement happens. this could solve lots of problems. Violence, poverty, and hunger.
I think in order to debate this we need to look at the purpose of having a credit score. Credit scores allow businesses to see how conscientious a person is with money: the extent to which they repay debts. Frankly, a "work score" would not aid this task. For example, let's say a man named Jeff is a janitor at a local school. Jeff is a good guy; his coworkers like him and he does everything his boss asks him without complaining. He is a good employee. However, he has a very low income. With that low income he is paying for a $500,000 home, a $50,000 car, and is putting several kids through college. He regularly is late with payments and there is little reason to assume he'll ever have enough money to pay his debts. Businesses should not be blind to the fact that they will likely never see there money again if they loan to Jeff. That is tantamount to robbery. Just because Jeff is a hard worker does not mean he deserves to take someone else's money.
