I think video games are not that bad, and are not this terrible thing that will ruin children's lives. I'm very nervous because this is my first debate, so this is more a test, but I will still try my best.
The first round is acceptance. The rest of the rounds try to contradict my arguments or add more arguments.
Welcome to Debate.org firstly, Video Games was my first Debate as well so good luck! Increasing reports of bullying can be partially attributed to the popularity of violent video games. The 2008 study Grand Theft Childhood reported that 60% of middle school boys who played at least one Mature-rated game hit or beat up someone, compared to 39% of boys that did not play Mature-rated games. This is obviously a fact that would show that video games do increase frustration and aggressive behaviour. In 2012 a 13-year old boy jumped off a building's 24th floor and committed suicide after playing 'World of Warcraft' for 36 hours straight, a teenager went on a rampage and killed three men, two of them police officers, after playing Grand Theft Auto and a 17-year old boy killed his mother and wounded his father after they took Halo 3 away from his possession. There will also several cases of youth leaving their home, in 2013 a 15-year old ran away from his parents after his Xbox console was taken away - his dead body was found almost a month after.
