Why we have to learn more languages?
Debate Rounds (3)
Children in many places nowadays are learning more than one language to face the challenge in 21st century? But why?
This is the first time I'm debating and feel free to join...
In the Western world learning other languages doesn't bring huge benefits per-say unless you work in a field that requires you know that language or you are moving to another country.
In non-English speaking countries teaching other languages (especially English) is extremely helpful as English is the most popular language on the planet, and by learning that language you vastly increase your hiring capabilities and connections.
Lets get back to what I said before, language courses are completely optional.. Are you going to debate me on free will or why we have too many optional courses in school?
You might say it is only useful for those who are going overseas but for some studies or research, using different languages give different results because not every researchers post their thesis in English and of course I don't mention we have to learn all the languages in the world but only more than one or two maybe to the studies we are interested.
Thanks for replying.
