Television has been around many decades now. We have watched it evolve from grey and white into a colorful work of art. We've also watched content evolve, provoking us more than we ever knew. With the content as bad as it is today, will the next generation be damned due to entertainment?

Content has been expanded and with that, as one would expect, much "bad" content has come along with that expansion, as well as much "good" content.

I"m going to go ahead and define "bad" as mindless and uninformative television (MTV), whereas good would be the opposite (CNN).

A television is just as useful as its user wants it to be. You said it yourself when you said television can be "provoking." It can be provoking in two senses. It can present viewpoints that we do not agree with so that we can reconcile those with our own and thus make our own stronger. Additionally, it can be provoking in the sense that it pushes the envelope and presents material to viewers that may not be appropriate (sex, violence, etc.)

To conclude this round, it"s a tool that can be used for good or for bad and its prevalence and expansion does not imply the damnation of the next generation, as it could just as easily lead to the next generation"s thriving. As with all tools, the result depends on how it"s used.

A little broad of a title. Please emphasize what you mean. Do you mean everything that is shown is poison. There are certainly beautiful things that T.V can teach.
