Windows is a much better Os because there is much more freedom with what you do and there are also more programs availible for windows.

Mac OS is better because of many reasons. According to the Apple website, Mac OS X Mavericks has amazing security and virus protection. First, Safari, the Apple web browser, has a random password generator that will generate a really strong and safe password. Then, iCloud key chain will store your passwords.

As useful as that may be, Mac Os computers have too strong of security sometimes. Mostly, if the publisher of a program is unknown, it will become difficult to use the program, even if you trust it. [There is also the Microsoft security essentials, which include the following features in the newest version including:
"Windows Firewall integration. You can turn Windows Firewall on or off using Microsoft Security Essentials.
"Network inspection system. This feature enhances real-time protection by inspecting network traffic to help block exploitation of known network-based vulnerabilities.
"New and improved protection engine. The updated engine offers enhanced detection and cleanup capabilities with better performance.](1)

Even if you say that Mac OS X Mavericks is overprotected, overprotected is better than not. Apple also has a great feature called Sandbox in there OS X Mavericks computers. This feature blocks applications from accessing data there not supposed to. Also, Mac OS X Mavericks also has Firewall and a virus scanner for every file downloaded from the Internet. With iCloud, you can locate your Mac OS X Mavericks computer, remote wipe it, put a message on the screen so the person who found it will know where to return it to and set a passcode lock remotely. If the Mac computer is offline, you can chose to get an email when it returns to the Internet.

Windows also has a firewall system which protects your computer from some issues, also, on Windows you can get security systams like Norton and AVG which provide more-than-satisfactory security. Also, Windows 8 a wide variety laptops are either touch-screen or 2-in-1 tablet/computer with capability to play most Xbox games.

Yes, but on Mac OS, this is built right in. No extra knowledge of good sources would be needed to have a safe computer. The safe computer will come built right in.

Though true, built in isn't always better. For some people, finding your own protection is the way to go because:

1) You don't have to pick a computer based on it's anti-virus software
2) When you pick a software, you also have the choice to remove it and/or replace it, wheras if the software come pre-installed, you might no be allowed to romove and/or replace it
3) If you get your own protection, the computer's price drops because the software is not included, making it more affordable

Another windows advantage would be that you can put the OS on almost any computer, unlike apple. This allows DIYers to make their own computers, which can be chaper and more customisable allowing them to get the most out of thier computer.
In conclution, I truly belive that Windows is better than Mac for many reasons apart from the few that i named in this debate. So, I gave my best and hope that you vote for me, along with the many other Windows preferers. Thank you for reading my side :) .

Many of the anti-virus software a for windows come with a price. Yes, many are free, but the good ones come with a price. Take Norton for example, their anti-virus is 55$/yr. When the anti-Virus comes with the OS it is free. Also, since Mac OS can only be on Apple certified computers, all of the computers with Mac OS have great specs.

In conclusion, Mac OS is better because of the better security and the fact that all the computer specs do not vary as much as computers with windows OS.

Here are 24 reasons why windows is not a virus:

1. Viruses are free.
2. Viruses can be gotten from any good bbs.
3. If detected soon enough, most viruses can be removed from your computer without a huge loss of data and time.
4. Viruses don't take up HUGE wads of disk space.
5. Viruses don't need 4meg of ram to run.
6. Viruses do something.
7. Viruses come in flavors, not just one-size-fits-all.
8. Viruses use the "cutting edge" programming skills to make themselves less noticable. (untill they are ready to be noticed)
9. Viruses don't have major bugs. (if they do, then they don't work, so they're not virus')
10. Viruses don't have three different sets of documentation that is all mixed up and wrong.
11. Viruses don't leak things to the press about the upcomming Jerusalem 95, to keep people from switching to Michelangelo/2 Warp or better yet, XJerusalem.
12. Viruses don't put out stupid two page adds in magazines centered around the march 6 "activate button".
13. Viruses arn't on every computer.
14. Viruses don't have stupid wizards.
15. Who cares if a virus is 16 bit, even though it is advertised as 32?
16. Viruses don't say that they are user "friendly", when they arn't.
17. Viruses can run on PCDOS without warnings.
18. Viruses when installing themselves don't try to send private info about your computer over the phone lines to microstoned-net.
19. Viruses install themselves.
20. Viruses don't try to push out all compitition. They just try to do their job.
21. Viruses maker's don't try to buy Intuit (makers of Quicken (wouldn't that be fun, America's biggest finacial software company owned by a virus maker))
22. Viruses don't invade and take over PC Magazine, filling it with 100% junk on Win95.
23. Viruses don't try to copy what Apple does.
24. There are programs you can buy, or get free to remove viruses.

Sorry for the repeats.

Is Windows a virus?

With the recent problems being encountered by Windows users all across the country, people are begin to ask themselves if windows is a virus. In response to the high demand for an answer to that question a study was done and concluded the following.

1. Viruses replicate quickly.
Windows does this.

2. Viruses use up valuable system resources, slowing down the system as they do so.
Windows does this.

3. Viruses will, from time to time, trash your hard disk.
Windows does this.

4. Viruses are usually carried, unkown to the user, along with valuable programs and systems.
Windows does that too.

5. Viruses will occasionally make the user suspect their system is too slow (see 2) and the user will buy new hardware.
Same with Windows, yet again.

Maybe Windows really is a virus.

Nope! There is a difference!

Viruses are well supported by their authors, are frequently updated, and tend to become more sophisticated as they mature. So there! Windows is not a virus.
