There is a plethora of holocaust denial conspiracy theories being widely circulated on facebook, potentially poisoning a generation of adolescents. I am curious as to why jewish civil rights groups have been so silent from publicly condemning facebook and organizing boycotts. After all, this is a big threat to the jewish community and facebook is the leading platform for social media.
Since donald's trumps election, there has been a nationwide string of jewish community center bomb threats as well as a nationwide string of jewish community center cemetery vandalism. therefore, i feel that facebook should consider a "dislike button" to quell such rhetoric. Do you think that a dislike button would quell such advertised rhetoric? And if so, should jewish civil rights groups mobilize against facebook to coerce such an option? I personally believe that a dislike button would quell such hateful rhetoric from spreading, possibly saving a young generation from being manipulated by the ignorance of neo nazis. What do you think?

I'm not opposed to a dislike button, however, I do not think it will end hate groups. There is already a way to express your dislike of hate groups, by commenting on the post. I think anti Jewish groups are already used to negative reactions, and the use of a thumbs down will probably not change there mind. Over all, the fact that people dislike there post won't stop hate groups.

If people mobilized to target these hateful conspiracy theories, that are advertised and trolled like ed sheeran, then it may make them less prevalent and more underground. lets face it, the neo nazis constitutionally have the first amendment right to hate.. However, a dislike button may be a good tool to quell such rhetoric from being popular like beyonce. it surprises me that jewish civil rights groups are not boycotting facebook and making comparisons between mark zuckerberg and adolf hitler. afterall, mark zuckerberg has the power to create a dislike button to silence such hate from being main stream like beyonce.
