Recently my work hired a woman for a welding job, she had all the certifications needed and passed all of their tests, but the supervisor wanted to pay her $4 less a hour than another man who also just got hired who had the exact same certifications and passed the same exact tests. Now if this woman can do the same job as the man and is able to do the work, then shouldn't she be paid just as much as he is?

strongly disagree with opposition.
some area of job, men are better at, male are physical stronger. this is fact.
its is shaped by natural selection and evolution.

But if she can do the same job just as well then there should be no difference in pay, the only difference that would make sense is if one person worked more hours than the other. This woman has more work ethic than the man that is being paid more, we have to tell him every step of what he is supposed to do and stand over him to make sure he does it right and on time. We shouldn't have to do that

The Pro doesn't have enough information (or at least has not said enough) about why the manager wanted to pay less. Was it really just because she is a woman? How would you know? If it is, then she should be paid equally, however if there is something wrong on the woman's end (i.e. laziness, lack of work experience, clumsiness, etc.) then it may be right for him to dock pay.
