I believe that we are all born to see each other as equals and that the installation and the instructions of all religions is by far the greatest reason for the vast majority of the global problems that exist in the world today.
Throughout history countless lives have been sacrificed by people following the installation and instructions of others.
All religious literature dictates love, peace, understanding, compassion and tolerance.
Is a laser guided missile guided by any of the above?
Is a suicide bomber guided by any of the above?
Does any faith in any God guide mankind towards one and other.
Has any faith in any God ever achieved anything other than segregation, intolerance, and the injust judgement of all that believe otherwise?
Do any of us actually need an instruction book inorder to raise our children with morals is it really so difficult to teach right from wrong?
Science has taken us out of the dark ages and proven the existence of many things but not one God is among them maybe it's time for change and a realisation that all we really need to believe in is the simple fact that we are all in it together and would benefit far more bye working as such:)

Hi, my name is Peter, and I would like to argue for the point that organized religion has a positive effect on the world. I fervently rebuke the argument that the world is better without religion.

The first two points of the pro argument are easily combated. A laser missile and a suicide bomber are only controlled by the person(s) operating them. There is no divine power controlling these objects. They are only controlled by human operators.

As the pro argument stated earlier, "all religious literature dictates love, peace, understanding, compassion and tolerance. Of course this is an invalid generalization. However, the major part of organized religion emphasizes these morals. On this topic , if a devout follower of a religion that emphasized these morals, they would therefore be beneficial to themselves and their fellow humans.

The con argument for this point, unfortunately, can not be said for all followers of religion. The majority of religion however emphasizes the opposites of these points. In the case of unjust treatment against homosexuals by religious persons, we must realize that not all religious persons treat homosexuals as do the hateful Christians you find in online chat rooms. The majority of the religious have come to tolerate homosexuality, but do not condone it.

I must say that this point surprised me greatly. All you need to do is to turn on the news and you will see people doing things that religions consider "wrong". If the perpetrator of these actions had not learned right from wrong from their parents, where would they turn? The answer is religion. If a person had been taught these things they probably would not have committed the act in question.

Thank-you for reading this and debating with me.

If anyone follows the teachings of Christ, they would know that Jesus wanted to abolish religion. Just a point to be made.
