You can learn many things trough Disney movies. For example take the movie Beauty and the Beast. You learn about how in monarchy one person has all the power, and with that power comes a responsibility. If the person gets greedy with the power. (As the beast did) than places can fall into dark times. You also learn about the geography of the country side of France. There are small towns, and forests. Another movie that you can learn from is A Bugs Life. Through this movie you learn about the civil war. The ants are like the slaves. They work all day with little to no breaks. They also have no say i what they give the grasshoppers and what they keep. The ants (slaves) get nothing from all the hard work they do. The grasshoppers are like the slave owners. They get to tell the ants (slaves) what to do and the ants (slaves ) get nothing for all the hard work they do when the grasshoppers (slave owners) benefit. The grasshoppers (slave owners ) also never let the ants (slaves) free of their labor the ants (slaves) always have to work for the grasshoppers (slave owners ) . This is where the change comes . When the ants (slaves) go to get " bigger bugs " they mean that the slaves are going to the north to find whites who will help them defeat the south. The ants want to get the support of the north so that they can defeat the grasshoppers (slave owners.) The ants (slaves) and the bigger bugs (union) go to fight the grasshoppers (slave owners The bigger bugs (union) helps the ants (slaves) defeat the grasshoppers. That is two examples of how you can learn history through Disney movies.

I will be arguing as con, that Disney movies cannot teach you history.

1. Their very structure makes it impossible.
You stated ways that you could learn history be relating real world events to Disney movies. However, this won't teach anyone anything about history. In order for you to have recognized the similarities between the two, the two being the civil war and Bug's Life, you had to first know about the Civil War. Just by watching Bug's Life you didn't learn about the Civil War because it was never mentioned. Now I will agree that if you had already learned about the civil war or monarchical power watching Disney movies may act as reinforcement by giving you a visual of it. However reinforcement for already known knowledge is not learning.

2. Disney films definition
By Disney films I assume you mean all movies made by Disney. And you being the pro you are given the burden of proof of proving that every Disney movie can teach history.

I pass the argument to the pro.
