True. It is my intention to prove this to all of you over the next three rounds. I hope you'll see where I'm coming from.

True. Partially. You do not have to like your government to take part in it (i.e. voting). In fact, I fall into this category.

But to love your country, the love has to be based on something. Based on what? The government. That's all I have time for for now, I'll expand later.

Your argument is false.

You can love your country based on things like baseball, Disney, TV, New York City, whatever. This country has so many great untainted things to love.

But that is not really loving the country as a whole. These things are possible because of our government. But they are not impossible elsewhere. To truly love the country, you must love that which can not be emulated or duplicated in other contries. And that really makes this a completely different debate--do the small parts of something just add up to make the whole, or is the whole different. One can love "baseball, Disney, TV or New York City" (even though Disney was anti-semitic and TV? Seriously?) Loving a part of something is not loving the whole. I enjoy water melon but I tend not to eat the rind. A band may have a good guitarist or bassist or singer or whatever, but that doesn't mean that I love the band.

By taking part in your government, it means speaking out against wrong-doings. You can love your country without the government. It's kind of like loving a person who has passed away.

Probably a really good bassist, just saying it is the most important part of a band.

I don't consider that as taking part in government.

And I can't vote anyways.

If you do not agree with your government the best way to change it is to vote... that is a big way to take part in you government. if you do not take any action to change something then i do not see why you should sit around and complain.

I agree with every part of the resolution except for taking part in the government.

That is the last thing I'd do. Waterboard me first; I am not signing up for a government job.

Honestly I agree with you, you can love your environment, and help clean it up, which is your country, but still disagree with your government.
