Young people who generally sit on the left of the political spectrum criticise right wingers for all the wrong reasons.
Left wingers get there "socialist ideas" and their "anti right views" from the media. They care more about the messenger than the message. They cry about the current voting system and the Conservatives winning with 36% of the vote, when in 2011 there was a referendum for the AV... Which failed. Lefties suckle of Russell Brand's saggy chest.

I'm a Conservative from Canada, I may agree with the premise but for argument's sake I'll take this debate on. Defending positions you disagree with helps you refine your own ideas and positions.

Okay first, the media isn't socialist, that's a broad generalization that's not fact based. Are there people within the media that lean left? Yes. However not all media outlets have a left wing slant, and the majority of news organizations must provide credible information so they can't attack the right with fact less information. People on the left will call the mainstream media right wing, people on the right will call the mainstream media left wing, they are both right and wrong at the same time. For one, when it comes to media like all businesses they must create a customer base, so the only goal of the media is to draw viewers, readers, listeners, etc. Once they have a base, a market, they cover stories that base will enjoy to read. Now when it comes to public broadcasters it's a different story, their jobs depend on government spending so more often than not public broadcasters tend to have a left wing slant. However, the business side of journalism does come before the primary goal of journalism which is providing information to the general public.

Now when it comes to celebrities, athletes, and other non-journalistic media personalities they can say whatever they want because they are only speaking for themselves and do not have an organization's reputation at stake. What sadly is the case though is many hold celebrities opinions are highly regarded when it comes to politics; but that's only by the people who do not follow politics on a day to day, week to week, or even month to month basis.

Now to address the debate topic, although I may partially agree with it, it simply comes down to winning or losing elections. The side that loses more elections tends to become more and more upset about their reality, and more and more emotional. In Canada, we had 3 straight Liberal majorities when the Right had two major parties (Reform & Progressive Conservative), and many on the right grew upset but it took 4 years to unite the right. Another example is the Tea Party movement in the United States, the Tea Party movement only grew when Barack Obama was elected. And when Obama was re-elected there many within the Tea Party movement that believed it was the end of the world as we know it. That doesn't show right wing supporters being respectful to the results.

Lastly with regards to FPTP, I am supporter of it but UKIP actually got hurt the most by the system back in May. The finished 3rd in the popular vote but finished last in the seat totals. So if anyone should be complaining it should be UKIP supporters.

Your views on the media now are very interesting and to be honest I do agree. However the use of social media now days, due to my young age, I have noticed huge changes. It is predominantly used by left wingers to attack right wing ideals, jokes about right wing candidates and outrage at right wing victories. Honestly, I'm fed up with people disregarding the message some right wing politicians bring to the table, and focusing on their image or their "slightly stingy" past. People think they are doing the right thing because a certain media page says so and their wannabe socialist friends shared a certain post or like a certain quote, and this bandwagon creates an ever increasing young opposition to the right.
Due to this, whenever there is a Conservative victory or success, scrutiny occurs.
