Alright, for starters, the definition of the word poser means basically someone pretending like they can do something.Your not pretending to skateboard if you do. Next, all skaters start somewhere, even Tony Hawk had to learn to Skate board. If you saw him back then would you call him a poser if you knew what he was going to be.The lamest part about it is if you call skateboard beginner a poser, chances are your just trying to 1up yourself.WHAT THE HELL!
Heres a definition from slangsite.com

poser: 1. Someone who goes to great lengths to appear to be something she is not, especially one who pretends to be a skater.
2. Something inadequate or inferior. (Second use coined by the mighty poser Brandon Bingham of Sacramento, CA.)
Example: She can't even stand on skates! Get the poser! OR Good, you didn't get the weak poser corn dogs.

Under your second definition of poser, one who is bad at skateboarding is "inferior" to other skateboarders at skating, ergo, to them he or she is a poser.

opponent's case: "Alright, for starters, the definition of the word poser means basically someone pretending like they can do something."

The second definition from "slangsite" or whatever said it could be "inadequate, inferior" so not necessarily.

"Next, all skaters start somewhere, even Tony Hawk had to learn to Skate board. If you saw him back then would you call him a poser if you knew what he was going to be."

Tony Hawk, at that point in time was inferior was inferior to better skaters, although he is obviously no longer a poser.

"The lamest part about it is if you call skateboard beginner a poser, chances are your just trying to 1up yourself.WHAT THE HELL!"

Nothing to do with whether the guy is or isn't a poser. If I say someone is horrible at something, I may be trying to 1up myself, but it doesn't mean they aren't horrible, it just means I am a loser with no life.

I used to be sponsored by Sears and did demos in the parking lot 30 years ago to sell the boards they had for sale back then. But hang-en ten and doing a 720 was big time back then. I COULDN'T EVEN OF IMAGINED DOING WHAT KIDS DO TODAY ON A SKATE BOARD!! If you couldn't do these simple tricks back then and had a skate board, you were a poser. Nothing has changed only the tricks.

"I see your from Parkville, GO Baltimore!"

And he has a Dane Cook quote in his profile!

*angels sing*

Ok I lied. There were no angels. That might've been just slightly gay.

Speaking of which, my security code is YAGF. (FGAY backwards) Well I guess if it's backwards then it's straight right? XD

I believe you two are confusing the word for a "puzzling or baffling question" with poseur:"a person who pretends to be what he or she is not."
