I think yes, a synthesized zombie virus is possible. Now I've been watching The Walking Dead and in that show the virus will first invade your body giving you flu like symptoms, eventually it takes you, all the impulses in your brain stop. After as short as 3 mins to as long as 3 hrs the virus invades the brain stem and gives it a kick, the stem works, it sends very low energy impulses (relative to when the person was alive) to only specific parts of the brain making the "zombie" stand up. The virus ONLY sends the impulses to the parts of the brain to enable the body to survive, this is why when a zombie hears something it goes toward it because it thinks there is something alive near the noise. The virus wipes out fine motor skills and leaves basically walking, eating, and the five senses. It wipes all sense of reasoning and logic, it sends impulses to muscles. Since the body is 'dead' the flesh will rot and it will look something like necrotizing fasciitis. I'm no doctor but NF combined with rabies would turn someone into something like a zombie, no? Just wondering, I think that the biology behind it is quite fascinating.

i believe that no matter what combination of viruses you use you cannot awaken a dead body.viruses also need a host to survive and the host must be living because the second there is a death the body is rendered unusable to viruses.
i accept your challenge. :)

Never do extremely long voting periods. They are pains in the butt.

Reasons for voting decision: There's already zombie fungi that infect insects. It's not that much of a stretch think it might switch over to a human in time. Arguments to Pro, not for convincing me of this but for instilling doubt on the Con side. I just wish they would have gotten past opening arguments.
