We (the united states) currently have a lot of states that do NOT allow marijuana (weed) for any purpose and I think this is stupid do you think it should be legal? It's NOT addictive. (despite what some might say)
bitterherbs

Con

I think it is funny that the government is bullying these users, and I am all for comedy. In addition your claim about marihuana being harmless is not true. Unless you have no ambitions in life marihuana is very likely to ruin many of your plans. It makes people lazy and complacent and it eases their pain. Pain makes you better, so intoxication is bad. Also cannabis can make you go insane.

Pro

i know some who have used it and they are smarter than most people i know now do i think it should stay illegal no i don't but marijuana helps with alot of things including pain and depression
bitterherbs

Con

I wouldn't care if you did use marihuana. I am conflicted on this because I like freedom, but also I think intoxication should be discouraged, because it prevents suffering. I think that suffering is the key to personal growth. Weed wastes a lot of human potential, so I think we should ban it.

Reasons for voting decision: Pro starts out by saying weed is not addictive. Con counters by saying it makes people lazy and complacent along with easing their pain. He claims cannabis can make you go insane. Pro then claims people can use it and remain smart, and that it reduces pain and depression. Con makes a horrid spelling error in the start of his next claim and misspells marijuana. Con says suffering is a key to growth and marijuana stops this so it should be banned(i wanted to poke myself in the eye when I read this). Pro drops the last round and cons points remain uncontested. This was a rough debate. No sources on either side, cons spelling was horrible and no arguments were even accurate. Since Pro did not challenge any of the points con made, even though they were incorrect for the purpose of this debate they remain uncontested. Conduct to con for FF. S&G to pro
