not in convitional style i will argue why anarchy is better than a utopia and is the better of the two extemes.

By my reasoning, I d say an oppresive government is more desirable because without government we are in the state of nature and exist in a state without morals and consequinces to our actions. An oppresive dictatorship has protective benefits that are greater than that of living as an animal. An anarchy requires an extremely high pre existing faith for humanity, a faith that it dosnt deserve. When faced with the option of laziness and tolerance the majority would chose theivery instead of taking responsibility for his own actions. He can murder anyone in that state without enforcement of the non existing law.Inevitably our ability to rebuild a proper nation out of what had been the old one would deteriorate to the impossibility of regaining it.
With government revolution is possible, without it order loses achievability.

if there was an oppressive government the murders and the thieves would be the ones ruling. an oppressive government would only put the thieves and murderers in positions of power, causing a force that no one would question but at its heart is just as corrupt as the worst of humanity. the difference between anarchy and utopia is that anarchy forces the good of humanity to prevail and grow freely not under a constant watch and boot heel of big brother, while utopia breeds unjust morality by deeming it acceptable on a social and organized scale thus creating something much more sinister and oppressive as a whole. To give an example and nerd out a bit we must compare the two situations in pop culture today. the most iconic forms of oppressive culture would be with out a doubt the empire in star wars. the empire kills civilians indiscriminately and forces their political views under threaten of death. the counter example representing anarchy in pop culture would be "the book of Eli" or other apocalypse movies. in these movies there is always a group of thieves and murders trying to take advantage of the situation but their is never a full scale genocide involved based on political or religious biased it is always on a bases to survive as best they can, while society as a whole eventually forms towns, and community's to support eachother thus rebuilding different society's with different views much like the world we have today. only with a utopia will u find a society that breeds as much hate for something foreign and only in a utopia will u find a society with a concentrated amount of hate with zero progress or tolerance in the long run

Both debaters would do well to outline their cases a bit better and more clearly.

Reasons for voting decision: Sub-par arguments from both. Both lose conduct for forfeits after one round of arguing. I have to give the arguments based on that one round to Pro. Con argued that without government there would be no protection from people who wish to do wrong against others. Pro came back and showed that with an oppressive government, all you're doing is giving the thieves and murderers a huge amount of power, whereas in anarchy no one is given an institutional advantage. No response from Con means dropped it
