Thanks to PRO for instigating the debate.

As PRO stated in the comments, he has given me the permission to create the resolution here in my R1 argument relating to what was agreed.

FULL RESOLUTION: The Holy Bible does not indicate that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

DEFINITIONS: (Sources on comments)

The Holy Bible- (or Bible) is the collections of the primary religious texts that convey the mythology of Judaism and Christianity.

Jesus Christ- (or Jesus of Nazareth, Jesus, Christ) is the central figure of Christianity.

God- is the one Supreme Being, the creator and ruler of the universe. (As said in the Bible)

Indicate- to be a sign of; betoken; evidence; show

NOTE: So basically, since I am CON, I will be arguing that certain verses in The Holy Bible indicates Jesus as the Son of God, I will be posting them here in the debate, and to be fair to my opponent, I’ll give him a chance to state his first arguments in R2, then I’ll state mine.

I await PRO’s response, good luck!

I thank my opponent for accepting this debate.
A chain is only as strong as its weakest link.
To use the bible as evidence, the bible would have to be proved as a valid source.
I will accept evidence from the old testament since as it was written before Jesus it has no bias.
The new testament was written by jesuses followers so there is a bias that would prevent it from being taken without any evidence.

My opponent seems to forget that we are in a 10-minute, 2-round debate. He has made no arguments whatsoever. He states that the New Testament is biased but gave no evidence to support it.

His arguments, are therefore, baseless.

I will proceed with my arguments nevertheless and end the debate. I will be arguing that certain verses say that the Bible verses states Jesus is the son of God.

Examples: (Sources on Comments)

Matthew 16:15-17 [1]

15Jesus said to them, `Whom do you say I am?'

16Simon Peter answered, `You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.'

17Jesus answered, `Simon, Jonah's son, God has blessed you. No person on earth has showed you this. But my Father in heaven has showed you.

Luke 1:35 [2]

35The angel answered, `The Holy Spirit will come to you. The power of the Highest One will be over you. That is why the holy child who is to be born will be called the Son of God.

John 1:34 [3]

34I saw the Spirit coming on him, and I have told you. This man is the Son of God.'

Oh, btw, jd6, I've defined the bible in R1 and it's obviously a valid source of evidence.

Reasons for voting decision: jd6089 loses points for spelling due to his first round argument and also for points for arguments as well (he never presented one that was justified or proven by sources or facts, contrary to Con who, having the power to meld the resolution, substantiated it with verses from the Bible).
