hey everyone. this is my first debate over here and i'm damn excited to do it. coming to the topic - are ads used only for promoting sales. you can speak against the motion that is ads don't promote sales only. Grammatical suggestions are most welcome.

Advertising is a form of communication for marketing and used to encourage, persuade, or manipulate an audience to continue or take some new action. They are used to tell the audience what products you are selling, services you provide and the type of business you do such as whether your business provides finance company loan services for purchasers and sometimes, used to notify the public of the date and venue of an event. Every advertisement you see - either in television or the printed ones , has the same objective, that is, to promote their product.

Advertisements have the potential to change the thought process of the viewer. This change not just encourages the viewer to buy the product but also stimulates a different school of thoughts that creates a need for the product or at least brings the viewer close to a potential customer. The viewer knows that such a product is available. Now in this entire process of creating need for a new product, another process is stimulated. This process encourages a new lifestyle. For example, thanks to Mc Donalds, we have a new trend emerging. The brand might take the support of toys and what not for attracting kids. But at the end of the day, we have a huge impact on the health of people. There is a new wave of junk food gaining popularity amongst the youngsters. And we are all aware of how badly it has affected all of us. Thus, the entire process of selling a product causes a series of events which affect all the other sectors of the economy which might not be directly located. The story doesn't end at the sale of products.
