today the world is becoming more competitive than ever. unlike before, today competition is merely seen as a race, where you HAVE to win. today the values that competition provided, like humility in victory, not backing down during defeat etc. are being lost. competition in today's world is seen as the most important thing, and people do things that do not abide by the spirit of competition. So no, competition is becoming more cutthroat than ever, thus it isn't good.

I dont know why I was specifically challenged to debate this but it seems like an easy win so, why not.

'today the values that competition provided, like humility in victory, not backing down during defeat etc. are being lost.'

opinion....

'So no, competition is becoming more cutthroat than ever, thus it isn't good.'

competitions are more then just sporting events though. nations compete for industries, businesses compete to innovate and bring about the next great product, inventors compete to make something truly revolutionary, and I compete with my brother so that his fat a** doesnt eat all the rainbow popsicles in the freezer. Competitions, though brutal, are necessary for humanity to even be human.
