I believe teachers are not giving too much homework it is just the student who is slacking off on the homework makes it hard on their grades. so in my oppion it is the students fault that they are slacking off in school. so let my partner explain his side of the argument
First i would like to thank my opponent because without him this debate would not be possible Now i would like to restate the resolution that "are teachers giving too much homework every night?" As this is a question that my opponent failed to turn into a statement i will do it for him. My deffinition of the resolution is that teachers are giving too much homework for students to cope. I have three main reasons why this is true the social standpoint, the time reasons, and last is the political standings First is the social standpoint: I have about 4 hours of homework every night this is an exteame amout i rarely have time to talk to friends and i have an extreame amount of stress on me i am only debating right now because my teacher wants me to for a class! As anybody who want a reletively good gpa has to take on this work load not leaving time for freinds or anything social there will be a higher suicide rate. My second standpoint is that of time, we go to school every day and learn for an avrage of 7 hours as if this isnt enough we have about three to four hours of homework every night which brings our total to 10-11 hours of work everyday there used to be child labor laws in oregon agains children working more than ten hour days but now you see youth doing this every day just to be able to be educated. Last is the politiacal standings on this matter: I personally do not want to do my homework every night it is extreamly stressful and time consuming i find myself skipping lunch and dinner to work on school assingnments and i often dont have time to talk to freinds the only time i see then or talk to them is in class!! now to refute what my opponent said His whole arument is based on what he belives and what his oppinon is but he has no reasoning behind it therefore his arument holds no water For these reasons i urge a strong vote in the affermation of this resolution |

as my opponent had said about having homework for about four hours I on the other hand have an out standing GPA 3.40 with three B's and two A's the two A's are in math and woodshop also the B's are in debate, english, and drawing 2. true grades.
Due to the fact that my opponent cannot validate his last point it should not be taken into account For the reasons that my opponent failed to make any valad points and because he only countered one of mine i urge a strong vote in the negation of this resolution thank you. |

No wonder you don't get all that much homework.
I will give Pro the convincing arguments point simply because he provided more detail. Next time Pro, I suggest you provide a link to Oregon child labor laws.
