Anyway you look at it bacon is great, but the flavors can be enhanced with a bit of ketchup. Alone bacon has that yummy, salty, meaty, warm beef jerky flavor. Then with the sweet flavor of ketchup, you really bring that out. You get two great flavors in your mouth. It is literally a flavor party in your mouth and who doesn't like a good party. Or as my friends down south say. A fiesta.
While bacon is good, bacon mixed with ketchup is nothing short of a fallacy. Bacon is good with any number of things and accompanies them excellently, unfortunately for my opponent ketchup is not listed with these others. Bacon goes best with maple syrup. That covers the sweet taste argument and creates, as my friends back east would say, a bar mitzvah in your mouth. Sadly ketchup simply cannot produce the same affect, the acidic taint of the tomato takes away all of that yummy, salty, meaty, warm beef jerky flavor. So simply replace ketchup with some delicious maple syrup and you have your perfect breakfast side dish, or main course. |

You said: "Bacon goes best with maple syrup."
And to this I oppose. though I have tried maple syrup with bacon, and it is good, but it does not compare to the great taste of bacon with ketchup. My opponent says:"Sadly ketchup simply cannot produce the same affect (as maple syrup), the acidic taint of the tomato takes away all of that yummy, salty, meaty, warm beef jerky flavor." This would be true if you were to dip the whole piece of bacon into the ketchup, but this is not what happens while eating. To have the great sensation that I am talking about, you only dip the bacon a little per bite. Thus it does not cover the taste of the bacon with its "acidic taint." I hope this has clarified to the audience that bacon goes best with ketchup.
Stop trying to ruin our breakfasts with you vegetable substitutes. Obviously the argument for eating ketchup with bacon is a ploy to get us to integrate tomato products with other foods. It won't work, we have found you out baconator. please vote con. |

I enjoyed the original "Iron Chef" cooking competition TV show done in Japan. They would have celebrity guest judges like pro baseball players and girl pop singers. One might suppose these young people would know nothing. In fact, they were quite brilliant. In food-conscious Japan it is much more the norm. Knowledge is knowledge.
and thats exactly what You"ve just done
You say that I can't accept other peoples views and yet I view this as a good debate that's not a waste. Accept it.
Who put your panties in a bunch???
& Think things through before you question me not much"typical" teenage girls write opinionated statements on religion and theology.
Your the ignorant one you cant accept someone elses views !
Really get off your high horse
Ketchup is a sweet-and-sour sauce, while maple syrup is pure sweet. There is a substantial tradition of matching pork products with sweet-and-sour: ham with pineapple and brown sugar, Oriental sweet-and-sour pork, prosciutto with melon. Ketchup and bacon is in that genre, so it shouldn't be a surprise. Personally, I prefer bacon with fruit, like berries -- another sweet-sour thing.
The problem remains as to how one can win a debate on what tastes best solely by arguments, but this time it seems Pro and Con agree it should be determined by what *is* best rather than what is argued best.
At last a debate on something really important!
dude. You sounded so funny when you were doing this debate. especially cuz you were sitting next to me and reading your debate out loud while typing. But maple syrup? i don't know. I'll have to give it a try
It's even better with that squeeze cheese you get in the can.
