I think that betting should not be legalized as it is illegal and unethical. I say this due to the fact that, betting as its a form of prediction, there is no guarantee that a person is sure of winning that bet. The law of probability states that, there is only a 'chance' of winning or loosing. So, I think that betting is completely pointless because we dont even know who'll win. This not only results in a huge loss of money but also, families suffer on a very large scale. You might say that betting is a form of obtaining money, which in turn is given to the government not only for the development of the country, but also as the income of the person himself, increases. But, again, like I said before, betting is only a chance and you never know what really is going to happen. I would therefore like to conclude, by saying that betting should not be legalized.
Gambling is one of mankind's oldest activities. There is evidence written in tombs and other places. It was regulated in the laws of ancient China and Rome as well as in the Jewish Talmud. Part of not knowing the outcome is what makes it fun and enticing. The Bible contains many references to the casting of lots to divide property. However, in ancient times casting lots was not considered to be gambling in the modern sense but instead was connected with inevitable destiny, or fate. Gambling has been used in many cultures to dispense justice and point out criminals at trials.
United States does have a form of illegal gambling which is a Federal crime if done as a business.
Legal gambling tended to be those types that were considered proper gentlemen's diversions.
The Gold Rush was also based off of gambling. The United States and countries all over the world have a long history based on gambling. It has been debated by Congress and rulers all over the world of whether or not it should be legalized. There have been moments when gambling was banned, but if it was completely bad for us, then it would not keep on coming back.
