yoga is good.nobody is debating about it.but the question here is not about the benefits of yoga.some people for their selfish motives have today mixed religion with it and also commercialized yoga. Majority govt.in countries like India have imposed yoga on the minorities.Yoga may be good but that does not give the govt. the right to impose it on others. Today when we live in a globalized world where all major countries are democracies no one has right to impose majoritarin viewpoints on others.
I don't understand how you perceive that imposed yoga is a bad thing! It's spreading awareness for good health and fitness. It's the same thing as commercialised health food.Mixing religion iisn't an issue either. It does no harm to the people. If you say that the gvt has no right to impose yoga in the people, then I guess that means the gvt has no right to impose anthing that promotes wellbeing .Yoga is good for the people, and if they won't do it for themselves, the gvt is entitled to impose.
Yoga pants and Yoga mats are all examples of commercialisation of yoga. yoga my worthy opponent is a life-style a discpline it cannot be suppressed to just couple of asanas.doing so is equivalent to degenaratig yoga.yoga is good, there is no debate about that but just because is it goo it should not be blindly followe. one must take efforts to understand the real intentions of those who actually promote yoga . yoga is not something that can be spoonfed to one.therefore i do support tthe motion .
