Dance is not in a category of sports. We do not win an Olympic medal or play a rough game. We express our emotion or inspire an audience by moving; using qualities of space, energy, time, etc.. I do agree that it does take a lot of strength and flexibility to perform this matter but, the overall reputation is making a piece of art come to life. In order for that piece of artwork to come to life, you have to use your physical body. Dancer's wear pretty costumes not to protect our bodies but to help represent the performance. What dancer's do and what a sport's team does, does not make one on a higher level of capability. Dancer's can condition just as well as a football player can. instead of playing a game, we use that conditioning to help build up our muscle and endurance to perform our masterpiece.

My opponent states how it's not in the Olympics as a reason dance is not a sport. Yet there are dance tournaments, there are dance teams, as well as professional dancers. Also we can look to ice skating in the form of partners at the Olympics and it's a sport, when it is virtually ballroom dancing on ice.
Merriam Webster defines sport as "1. a contest or game in which people do certain physical activities according to a specific set of rules and compete against each other or 3. a physical activity (such as hunting, fishing, running, swimming, etc.) that is done for enjoyment " We can look to the first definition and the hundreds of contests held for dance. There are rules set in competitions such as what parameters are allowed, the size of the number, the length. As well as the third definition my opponent does state how it's a physical activity, and how it's done to "express emotions" which is most often done for enjoyment.
Using the "dance is an art" argument that the "Pro" is trying to run you can see the art of football, and virtually any other sport how there is skill and emotions can be expressed there as well. People watch sports and fine arts for enjoyment, dance has been commonly known as a fine art but until the last century where it's now known more as a thing used in a competitiveness standard.
By using the parameters my opponent set, you have to vote "Con" because I prove how dance in fact is a sport.
