two wrongs don't make a right. killing people who kill people isn't teaching anyone anything except to reciprocate with something more dramatic and unnecessary.

Okay good point, but putting a mass murder in jail and having tax payers pay for 3 square meals and a pretty decent life isn't teaching anyone especially them any lesions.

everyone makes mistakes, some worse than others. but everyone deserves a second chance. if someone would go as far to intentionally kill someone, then something must be clinically wrong with them. whether it's out of anger, envy, or jealousy they have a twisted way of thinking that killing the person who is making them feel like that is the best way to go. anyone who thinks like that should see a therapist, not be considered a liability to our country.

if someone does "go insane" and kills a mass amount of people or even just one, and is convicted who do you think is paying for there therapist?!

the same people who are paying to keep them in prison. the same people who pay for their meals. the same people who pay for lethal injection. it's more convenient and saves money to use capitol punishment over a life sentence, but no one has the authority to chose whether someone lives or dies.

it's not that it's just cheaper but if no one has that authority to take someone else's life then the person that commited that crime must reap the same doing. if someone decides one day to take someones life for no good reason then they should in my opinion get the same treatment.

There are evil people in this world that do not deserve to live. I am a supporter of capital punishment especially in cases where there is no doubt as to guilt. Texas is on the right track.

Derek, I completely agree with you... but what you've just said has already been said (by myself and others). The facts have been laid out...most people just don't accept them on political, moral, or religious bases.

[And Derek, who were you responding to exactly because you didn't mention them? I know it wasn't me, but I'm sure others want to know. Either way, thanks for being informed. If you look back at the beginning of the posts, you will see for how long I was involved in "educating" people about the death penalty, but some just refuse to acknowledge or understand what one says.]

It custs more to execute them. You are misinformed and behind in the times. The studies have shows the opposite of your arguement for ages.

Super-due process is the excessive cost of appeals and the final execution. It ends up costing 650,000 on avg more than 30 years in prison costs. Do that math.

No hard feelings, i just feel its important for individuals to be educated on the realistic costs of capital punishment.

Today New Jersey signed a bill banning the death penalty, some European country's already thanked New Jerseys governor. Merry Christmas New Jersey...what a blessing..:o)
