If the Confederate flag was not racist, why does the Ku Klux Klan raise them while burning crosses? Over the years, it has symbolized racism in the United States. When the American Civil War first began, it was a flag just because the South wanted their own country. Now the South continues to bring it up and adding things to the flag like "We should have picked our own damn cotton!" and "The old South shall rise again!" When they say we should have picked our own damn cotton, they are referring to the African slaves they tore from their home. By "The old South shall rise again", they are talking of slavery, discrimination, and pain for slaves and freedmen of the time.
Did you not see me type that the Ku Klux Klan raises the flag while burning crosses along side with their emblem? Maybe you just didn't know that the KKK terrorized freedmen and whites with supported freedmen after the American Civil War. They obviously raise the flag to symbolize something. I know the flag doesn't symbolize peace, happiness, and rainbows. You really have to do a little more research before hailing a flag with such hate and terror behind it.
