eating meat is not immoral

as long as considerations are given to how the meat was created, such as inhumane conditions of livestock being bad meat to eat.

our bodies are designed to eat meat. that is proven by the fact that we eat both meat and plants. and, our canine teeth shows that we are designed to eat meat.

so how can it truly be called immoral to eat meat?

Eating meat is immoral because of the large amount of land required to sustain animals. This is slowly destroying our planet and if we do nothing about it, we will surely destroy our planet. Although you are considering the animal being slaughtered, I think it is much more important to think of the impact we are having on our entire biosphere. Unfortunately it is not sustainable to feed a population of 9 billion (by the year 2050) on a meat-heavy diet like the one we have in the U.S and in most other first world countries.

con has only showed how eating too much meat could be considered immoral. our bodies are designed by nature to kill and eat animals, though, so con hasn't adequately rebutted the presumption that eating meat is moral based on our design.

I'm not sure where you got that idea, I never said anything about eating too much meat. Our bodies evolved to digest meat because it was beneficial to our chances at survival. The fact is that we are currently destroying our biosphere by breeding mostly cows and harvesting them for meat.

Pro only restated his arguments without deferring any of mine.

con has only shown that sometimes it is immoral to eat meat. if you eat meat and help support a meat industry that is out of control, for several reasons, then you are acting immorally. con hasn't shown that it in inherently wrong to eat meat, if those other factors arent taken into consideration. that is because he can't, because our bodies themselves show that it is moral. if you grow a cow and eat it, how is that really contributing to a global problem? it's not. that's because eating meat is only sometimes immoral, if the situation makes it so.

How do you define morality? It sounds like you are confusing morality with social values.
Morality is a force in nature, see: http://www.debate.org...
