gay couples have no other economical choice but to adopt to have kids. Statistically, children of gay couples are equally as heterosexual as those of non-gay couples. Additionally, there are huge numbers of kids who need an adoptive family but are not chosen. Kids in foster care have a higher rate of suicide and school drop-out than kids who are adopted, by either straight or gay parents. Lastly, it is financially better for the state to ANY kind of adoptive parents, rather than the gov't paying for their accommodations.

Leviticus 18:22
King James Version (KJV)

Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Homosexuality is a sin, and sinners shall be cast into the lake of fire. If you don't want to repent and do things the right way, you shouldn't be allowed to adopt and potentially get that child sent to hell. It's a known fact that children are influenced by their parents.

I'm talking about economy, law, and US society but you are talking strictly from a religious point of view. This is comparing apples and oranges. The country's economy and laws are visible, concrete things that directly effect people, but religion is different to different people--completely interpretive. Our country was founded on freedom of, and freedom FROM, religion.

Additionally, in society morality standards have changed, especially during these last 50 years. Don't ignore the fact that the Bible teaches the morality of doing good, and of being a good person. But sometimes people misinterpret or misunderstand it's main ideologies. We can't remain stubborn and ignorant of larger social trends. We need to bring the bible into the politics of today. Otherwise the Bible is not going to be pertinent to our social times (such as fighting for and exercising our civil rights) as it was not for the issue of slavery or segregation.

Lastly, you are still stuck on the idea that homosexuality is learned. As I did not choose or learn to be heterosexual, gays never really "decide" to be gay. Therefore, children can not learn to be gay,or heterosexual, based on the preferences of their parents.
