I am taking this first round as a inductry element to introduce the case. In some states gay and lesbian people are not allowed to get married. That is very wrong. My opponent, shall be persuading why these rights should be provoked. This is my first debate and is all for fun. I am just trying to learn how to use this website. Thank you for your support and I hope to see you on the field of law.

I accept the debate challenge. BoP is on Pro to affirm that homosexual couples are granted the right to marry based on the US Constitution. Moral arguments do not apply here because it is not the Supreme Court's (or anyone else's) job to decide what legislation should be, but rather to interpret what the Constitution says about it.

I thank Pro for this opportunity to share my views, and I hope for a fun debate.

Point: Marriage is a religious institution. Under seperation of church and state, laws can't be made about it by the government. The Establishment Clause of the First Amendment protects it. Forfeit again and I pick up freelo

I win the conduct point (Pro's forfeit), and the grammar point because of Pro's use of "inductry" and "provoked."

@young_lawyer_extreme

If you change the post time between rounds from 3 hours to 24 hours I will accept it.

I cannot do 3 hour rounds for all rounds, but for the ones I can I will post new arguments quickly.
