gun control is wrong. it is taking peoples rights away, espcially if they do no wrong. When the people that deserve to own the guns get them taken away, criminals will still be able to get ahold of them, they're a criminal for a reason.

Alright you have the right to bear arms yes. But there is no reason why we need access to every weapon available. Should we be allowed to own a shotgun yes, a pistol yes, a rifle, yes even a sniper sure, but why do you need a .50 caliber sniper rifle that marines use or why do you need ak-47s or ar-15s. You don't go hunting with those guns. Those guns are designed to kill people. And for the purpose of protection based on your states open carry laws or concealed weapon laws a pistol does the job as well. As for when your at home a shotgun will do just fine. I'm ok with gun control in the fact of not needing every weapon. Would you like a nuclear weapon as well. how about c4 is it ok if I can go down the street and buy c4. We need stricter laws on guns but not total control. We need to put in place harder background checks, mental health issues, age, and morality. Guns don't kill people kill and that is the problem. We can't trust people.

I disagree people have the right to own those types of guns if they want. plenty of people hunt with those types of guns, and if they interest you then yes you should be allowed to own them one because they're semi-automatic and cannot go full auto like on military weaponry so they're just like any other rifle. And yes they are designed to kill what gun isn't that's what they're for it doesn't matter what the gun looks like. If people have earned the ability to own and operate the gun responsibly then they should be able to own assault weapons if they choose

Alright first I will look at your topic on they are only semi-automatic weapons. First that is false you can buy a full functioning ar-15 legally in certain states, some states like California make them semi-auto only and require a key to change the magazines out. But on a semi-automatic weapon vs someone with no weapon at for example a mass shooting doesn't matter. And even if he needed a key to change the magazine out then he still has thirty bullets until then so he can inflict the damage he intends. Look at the Colorado Theatre Massacre, he bought swat gear and semi-automatic weapons and smoke canisters, not to mention he is deemed mentally ill. Look at Sandy Hook the gentleman killed his mother and then went to the school and shot several people including children. Look at Columbine and Virginia Tech. I could go on for days about public mass shootings. If we had a huge crackdown and took those weapons from criminals AND civilians we could jail the criminals because chances are they aren't supposed to own a weapon and for innocent law abiding citizens we give them the worth of their gun or a gun of their choosing that is appropriate for them to own without the chances of them killing hundreds of people in minutes. It just does not make sense why people would NEED these guns. Yes they look cool, fun, and exciting but they cause more destruction than good. Not to mention the human brain is so fragile anyone with these guns could snap and go crazy in a minute.

@Pro, firearms have far more of a cultural significance than you might care to acknowledge. they are a source a history and pride. families and friends bond over them, including fully automatic guns. not to mention that they are source of tremendous commerce and profit. such as the tremendous gun culture
in the Philippines were citizens are able to craft and build guns from nothing but bits of scrap metal. And with the advent of 3D printing firearms in the developed countries it will be allot harder to initiate this "crackdown" of "criminals" you suggested.
