I accept this debate, thank you to Pro for posting an interesting topic. This is my first debate on Debate.org, so I hope to start off well.

Your statements:

"R1: support your opinion "
and
"Please don’t argue the first round"
Seem to contradict each other. However, I will be posting my definitions and framework; I hope this is ok with you.

Definitions:

History-a past notable for its important, unusual, or interesting events.[1] (Because of the word “study”, I am assuming this debate only applies to history before the studier’s lifetime, as opposed to, say, things that happened yesterday)

Important- entitled to more than ordinary consideration or notice; mattering much[2]-(I am going to interprate this as being a priority over other subjects or activities)

Burden of proof (BoP):

The BoP is exclusively on pro to prove how history is important. My role is to present a case that history is not important, and the time of people studying in elementary through high-school would be better spent studying more practical subjects, such as computer science or personal finance. I am NOT arguing that history should not ever be taught, nor that no one should ever know it.

4 points to Con (Conduct, S&G, Sources). Reasons for voting decision: Easy win. A crock of poop vote below me.

[*Reason for non-removal*] This debate is well beyond the statute of limitations for vote moderation. We recognize that the voting period is still open, but as this debate ended over 4 years ago, it is regarded as being well beyond the SoL.

This is a bit of an obvious debate. Of course, it is an important subject to study.

Reasons for voting decision: Pro made a very eloquent and heartfelt argument that had me at tears at the end. But so did the Con. I was ready to go all out for Pro but he quit so Ill throw conduct to the Con
