homework is just a waste of time. we learn everything in school, so why should we do it at home. home is for family time and whenever we have homework it takes time away for you to spend with your families.

Hi. I gladly accept your debate. use this next round to formulate your argument more and provide examples.
Debate Round No. 1

Homework is just a waste. It uses paper which hurts the environment. Homework takes time away from doing every day things instead of doing homework over the weekend which is meant to give you a break not make you break.

Homework is to make sure that you know what you need to know to succsed. If no work was given then many people will have a decreased amount of educational skills. Bringng fourth a brand new breed of idiots. Increased homeless rates and a very very slow advancemnt in scientific learning.
Debate Round No. 2

that is why you study and take notes in class. homework is just doing the stuff you did during that lesson. all you are doing is remembering.

people dont take notes in class often.

Homework is proof for the teachers that you understand the material and are able to excell at it. YOU NEED TO REMEMBER WHAT YOU LEARNED.

You have forgoten about people who have strugles learning material. They need an education to.

You have failed to refute any of my points and have not developed and argument. You put a 500 charecter limit on this.

Reasons for voting decision: 500 characters limits really live up to their name. There wasn't a whole lot that went on, in this debate. However, I think that Con addressed all of Pro's arguments, along the way. Needing to remember what you've learned was never addressed, and that's Pro's fault for structuring the debate that way, so that he/she couldn't address that point. Therefore, arguments to Con. I found the spelling and grammar, in this debate, to be quite bad. Both of you, please try to be more careful with what you write. It's a free point, if the other person is careless.

Reasons for voting decision: Im in HS, and I can tell you that HW is mainly just for you to acquire the life skill of being able to do work in general on your own time, not necessarily to teach you how to do math, science etc.
