darcydrums

Pro

rifles are more accurate lighter and and easier to use than a shotgun and there is not much more to say
Jarhyn

Con

There is a burden of proof upon PRO to prove that there is an objective "goodness" which necssarily applies to all firearms, and that rifles exemplify it more than shotguns. The purposes to which they have function are merely different. Rifles are better for hitting distant targets, but shotguns are better for hitting targets in close quarters, or small targets at medium range. It makes no sense to judge a hammer by how well it turns screws, nor a shotgun by its accuracy at long range.
Debate Round No. 1
darcydrums

Pro

darcydrums forfeited this round.
Jarhyn

Con

Given my opponent's apparent forfeit, I rest my case. Should my opponent wish to make a rebuttal, though, I would be unable to answer it except in closing, so if he does make such a rebuttal, I would request that voters do not hold a counter-rebuttal in closing against me.

Pro, remember only 3/7 points are for the most convincing argument You've already apparently forfeited spelling and grammar to your opponent. "Rifles are more accurate, lighter, and easier to use than shotguns."

As one of my previous debates has been forfeit to me, I'll be glad to take this up provided you accept that this one provided you repost with some rules, such as good faith in intended meaning, no equivocation arguments, bald assertion implying a burden of proof, etc.

Given that I have a few other debates running at this point in time, I cannot respond immediately to this one. When I have reduced my number of active debates, I will probably accept this one; if it expires, feel free to reissue it.

Reasons for voting decision: Pro had BOP, he made an argument, Con showed that his argument is inadequite to suport the resolution, & then pro F.F. S&G: Pro wrote 1 sentence (or whatever you call it) & made every grammar mistake he could.

Reasons for voting decision: Jarhyn wins on S&G per my comments. Jahryn wins on conduct due to forfeit. Jahryn wins on arguments since Pro never met his burden of proof before poofing. No sources were presented.
