the first round is to establish who is fighting and ground rules

rules are that you must pick five people to fight against my five people

my choices are
- wolverine
- hulk
- night crawler
- phoienx
- ice man

The only rule established by my opponent is that I must assemble a team comprised of 5 DC entities. Given this remarkably light constraint, allow me to introduce my team.

1. Mordru [http://dc.wikia.com...]

2. Darkseid [http://dc.wikia.com...]

3. The Anti-Monitor [http://dc.wikia.com...]

4. Imperiex (Prime) [http://dc.wikia.com...]

5. The Presence [http://dc.wikia.com...]

Additionally, there are some rules of engagement I ought to briefly take care of.

Location: Inside of this maze [http://www.astrolog.org...]

This maze is enclosed on all sides. Walls, floor, ceiling. Taking a cross-section, each passage is 8 feet tall and wide (the Hulk is usually depicted as less than 8' tall, so I figured that this would accommodate him). Additionally, the walls of the passages are opaque, and are composed of a material impervious to damage, ensuring that the maze can not be destroyed.

On top of that, also note, from here on, that team composition cannot be changed in any way (adding/removing/substituting team members), and that all characters have the equipment and supplies usually associated with the character.

One pre-battle note: given the small size of the maze (compared to some of my rather large team members), I would have the Presence use his powers over existence to manipulate the size of my team such that all five members will fit comfortably within the confines of the maze.

Good luck to my opponent, whose team of mutants will (I imagine) have a difficult time taking on some of the most powerful characters in the DC universe.

---GENTLEMEN---

I'd be happy to hold another debate of this nature with Pro; however, I'd note the importance of specifying the rules of engagement prior to the match.

Thanks.

Kudos Cody on your cunning in battle.

My choices would have been:
Lobo to take out wolverine.
Johnny Sorrow to take out hulk
Ravage to take out night crawler
phoienx is a bit trickier, but I'd say the Spectre or Parallax might have beena good match.
Metamorpho to beat ice man...

"Given that my team is composed of 4 cosmic entities and an entity which, in the DC universe, is equivalent to God, I'm not sure what kind of strategy he could possibly devise to get himself out of this one."

Wolverine cuts off Iceman's head, Iceman goes to Heaven, Iceman petitions the-one-above-all, the-one-above-all (represents the writer) retcon's the DC's team, Wolverine solos.

Being bored, Nightcrawler tells Hulk (Ultimate Hulk) that Wolverine is Betty Ross in drag, Hulk becomes aroused, hilarity ensues.

The Phoenix Force wishes she was back fighting a starving Galactus, Galactus manifests, is not starving and not pleased at being summoned - curb stomp.

Nightcrawler attempts to teleport, Surfer inverts space-time, Nightcrawler teleports right back onto himself at an infinitesimal time before the teleport and gets stuck in a time loop.

The Hulk, his desire sated reverts to Banner, finds the Ultimate Nullifier in his pocket, obliterates the Surfer and Galactus, takes out his PSP and plays some Final Fantasy Tactics.

Marvel has always bowed to DC's might. This does not speak to the quality of the characters and story lines, of course.

*X-Men, X-Man is the name of a specific mutant. >_<

I'm actually interested in an X-Man UTW now. With rules, of course. Anyone?

I think he expected me to pick regular characters, also. I doubt he even remotely considered the possibility of me selecting the team that I did.

If it's unrestricted, I would have (for the Marvel side) taken the One-Above-All.
