What have they done? It's a perfect question in its simplicity. Just in my state of Texas what illegal immigration has caused is an $1100 bill per year for every single household. Double that for California. This is in addition to the human toll that has been paid:
This is a tough issue to be sure. No matter what side you choose. But in it's simplicity, it all comes down to the fact that every human being on this planet has a right to live a decent life. Does it make it easy on the rest of us? No. Not in the least, but faulting someone for wanting more? You might has well go back to the stone age. People are risking their lives for their piece of freedom. That has got to mean things are worse than risking life and limb for the possibility of a better life. Add to that in a country where they don't know too many people, or the language, and the people crossing boarders to get here however they can, are stacking the deck against themselves! Tax payer dollars are stretched beyond comprehension, If they are going to be here, devise a system that would take some of the burden off us as tax payers and put it on them. Illegals can now get a permit to drive, so we know they are here. It is only a matter of time before this is no longer an issue. We spend billions of tax payer dollars keeping them out, while social programs are going broke, kids are going without, and so many other issues require immediate fixes. When you compare the other issues on our plate as a collective whole, illegal immigration could be a much easier fix than to build a few walls to keep people out. Give someone a fish you feed them for a day, Teach them to fish, you feed them for life.
