Con

Cons

1)Agreed upon the definition of anger.
2)I do not agree with the second premise. Medea"s anger can not justify her crime.
3)Better to betray than kill your child.
4)It may be true that a women gets jealous if her husband betrays her, but what Jason did also a women can do and there are a lot other man that Medea could fall in love with.
5)If you get hurt by somebody, the best solution is to let go and start your life from the beginning with your children.
6)Anger doesn"t help solve the problem, but makes you do unwanted things, which this is the case.
7)No type of anger can be justified, especially when Medea decides to take revenge on her husband"s betray.
8)A mother is responsible to take care of her children and not kill them.

Pro

1)Anger is a natural, though sometimes unwanted or irrational, emotion that everybody experiences from time to time.
2)Anger is never justified.
3)Medea committed infanticide because her husband Jason, betrayed her.
4)We get jealous if the person we love slights us.
5)Medea took revenge because she felt it as necessary, in order Jason would feel the pain that she was experiencing.
6)People think that anger is useful, in this case she is one of them.
7)Anger is never justified, therefore Medea is justified in committing infanticide because Jason started it.
8)Medea is not responsible for the death of her children.

Non-Controversial: 1,2,6 Premises 1,2 are definitions we agreed upon.

Controversial: 4.She felt jealous and not loved. 5. Argues the reason why she killed her children. 11. One can argue that anger does have justification, comes from a disappointment due to an expectation for people, which cause us to get angry.

2) Being angry makes you lose control, which ended up where Medea did. We are human beings and things of this nature happens. Mistakes happen and are forgivable.
3) Betray is wrong and Jason was the one that first started it.
4) Jason was Medea"s first husband and she could not let him go without paying the price he deserved.
6) Anger does make you solve the problem in a significant way like Medea did.
8) I agree with your premise number 8 that the mother must take care of her children, but she still has to take care of the children but not in this case where she had these two children with a disloyal and distrustful husband.

Pro

Cons

1)Not every mistake can be corrected and forgivable. Nothing can bring the dead children back alive.
2)If betray is wrong, what about murder? Yes, I agree on the fact that he was the starter but Medea would have to choose to take revenge in a different manner.
3)Love, husband, wife, life is never granted to anybody.
4)Love, loyalty can not be paid in a price, they are given to people"s our heart desires the most.
5)Anger definitely does not make you solve the problem but Medea is the one that deserved to get punished for life and not her children.
6)Jason may not be a great parental example, but in comparison to Medea he is a better one.
