Animal testing is an incredibly beneficial process. It has been the cause of significant progress in terms of scientific advancements, primarily in the field of medicine. This alone shows one use of animal testing.

It is important to note that the question and previous argument suggests that testing on animals has had little effect, and is a result of the vanity of humans. The previous argument also suggests that animals have suffered largely, as shown through the use of the phrase 'poor animals'. This is a good point to begin my argument with. Whilst there have been some cases of animals suffering as a result of animal testing, this is largely not the case. There are legal protections for animals that are partaking in research. For example, the Animal Welfare Act sets out regulations to protect animals that are being used in research. As well as this, both in the UK and the US, there are heavy regulations on animal testing, and in particular, the RSPCA (Royal Society for the prevention of Cruelty to Animals) regularly check the conditions that animals are in during their testing. This, in addition to a widespread public pressure, ensuring that animals are often kept in good conditions.

In terms of the benefits of animal testing, the first of these is that it ensures that household products are safe to use by humans, and prevents products that are incredibly dangerous. However, it should be noted that 'many products used in the household (such as cleaners, fly-spray or air fresheners) will contain a mixture of chemicals. As mixtures, there should be no demand for animal testing of the finished product. However, the individual ingredients may be subject to various legal requirements, such as those for general chemicals, pesticides, or biocides. In fact, very few ingredients of household products are 'new' or used in no other type of product, for example for industrial or agricultural use.' (this originates from the RSPCA, and shows how animal testing is being used less often in recent years.

In addition to this, there are a number of benefits in terms of science and medicine, as previously stated, that have proved incredibly useful and vital to the increases in life expectancy that have occurred in most western nations. This is a compelling point, and is the strongest argument in favour of the continued testing on animals. Testing on animals is a vital part of the process of creating new drugs, and having them allowed for use on humans. By testing on animals, they can test how a drug or vaccine reacts to biological life, and whether they are toxic or potentially fatal, which if not tested on animals, would be hard to guarantee, and as a result could be catastrophic if they are used for clinical trials on humans if they are toxic.

Therefore, I believe that animal testing should be continued, as it is vital to improving the conditions for human life, and has saved more lives than it has damaged animals.

have you seen what these animals go through first i would like to define the word cruel : to hurt or harm something or someone in a harsh way! these animals are getting gassed and tortured just so we can wear makeup and so you say it's important for medicine well actually 90% of the drugs tested on animals and given to humans doesn't work 90% of the time so why put these poor animals get gassed, sprayed, burned just for our needs are you saying this is not cruel ?!

i would like you to watch this link and tell me this is not cruel ! https://www.youtube.com...
