I think it is because the possibilities are endless in space.

I negate the resolution:

"Is space travel worth the cost?"

1. Space refers to traveling outside this world.
2. The term "travel" refers to modern transportation systems based on current methods, not futuristic devices.

I will now move to my arguements.

Contention I

Space travel can not benefit mankind.

Subpoint a. - Space travel is conducted for transportaton and recreation.

Contention II

Space travel is not the same as space expeditions

a. Space expiditions travel (usually) to planets for it's own educational purposes, and has led to benefits of mankind.
b. Space travel, while included in expiditions, isn't the same as it. Space travel implies that traveling is the sole objective, whereas space expeditions have an objective.

=Reinforced Defense=

Recreation is not an objective. To idenify it as an objective would make it a job, therefore a space expedition. If this is the case, designing a space campagin for recreation is not worth the cost. Even alone, recreation is not worth it if that is the sole purpose.

My opponent's only point "possibilities are endless in space", is appurtenent to my case. In the sense he refers to, possibilities of space are relevant to objectives. As I've proven, recreation (space travel) is not an objective.

For these reasons, I heavily urge you to

Debate Round No. 1

The term space expedition refers to attempting the explore space. The question is whether or not space TRAVEL is worth the cost. Space travel does need to be explored farther, for even though there is no place to travel to and arrive at, there is an near infinite region out there. Our astronauts could easily send the information they collect back to Earth. Therefore, space travel is worth the cost.

We have identified the main arguement of this debate with our views on the terms "expedition" and "travel". I will now move to differenciate the two so that my case can be made abundantly clear. I will list multiple sources to prove my unbiasedness and definitiveness.

1. Expedition- excursion, journey, or voyage made for some specific purpose. ( 2. an organized group of people undertaking a journey for a particular purpose ( 3. A long journey undertaken by a group of people with a definite objective. ( 4. a journey or excursion undertaken for a specific purpose. (

2. Travel- 1.make a trip for pleasure ( 2. To go from one place to another (

1 My opponent has not rebutted my 1st Contenton and subpoint.

2. As I've proven with the term definitions and sources above (albiet with my own points), space "travel" is not worth the cost, but space expeditions are.

Thusly, I strongly uge you to
