Pro

This is a newly discovered tale from the Thousand and One Nights
http://www.scribd.com...
I found it very good for three reasons
1) its lyrical poetry
2) its interesting story
3) for its philosophical argument
alexmiller887

Con

My opponent first needs to prove that this story is actually from a tale of 1001 nights.

Then we can argue about the quality of the work.

just go to the tale 566-578 "The city of Brass" in volume to of M,C,Lyons translation "The Arabian Nights Tales of 1001 Tales"
Penguin, Books2010 ,p.511-548

you say
"Imagine if I'd start posting my stories and poetry all over the internet, wherever you happened to be without context. You'd get rather pissed eventually.
"

1) Stop self promoting your poetry, you're not going to gain any recognition from it. Frankly it only makes you look arrogant. Imagine if I'd start posting my stories and poetry all over the internet, wherever you happened to be without context. You'd get rather pissed eventually.
2) I'm going to doubt that this is from Arabian nights until I see solid proof of that.

Reasons for voting decision: Well, this is interesting. In round 2, Con forfeits first. Yet then Pro also forfeits, and then Con claims victory. I'm giving conduct to Pro because Con forfeited first, and the went back on it. Pro provided reasons as to why it is a great tale, in round 1, and as weak as the reasons were, they went unaddressed by Con.
