i am pro. I think that Lebron james is a better player then kobe bryant. This has nothing to do with rings. Lebron is a better defender and scorer than kobe. But kobe is a better shooter.

When arguing between two players that are seven years apart in experience, it is important to consider the achievement Kobe Bryant had accomplished seven years ago and dismiss those he had accomplished after that. Even when taking 7 years away from his long career, he still remains a better player than LeBron James.
When thinking about the most dominating performances in recent history, you think of one player, Kobe Bryant. His 81 point game against the Toronto Raptors on January 22 2006 remains the greatest performance by any player in a game since the great Wilt Chamberlain's 100 point game back in 1962. But his outstanding performance is not just a one-game coincidence. He has had 5 60+ point games in his career (60, 61, 62, 65 and 81) to LeBron's one 61 point game. He also has a total of 17 50+ game performances to LeBron's 9. He has proven time and time again that he could dominate games in a way that LeBron James cannot. He has the ability to turn on a switch and drop 50 points easily.
When arguing about who is a better player, it is valid to talk about the number of rings a player has because that is the ultimate goal. The number of championships a player wins reflects the quality of the player. Michael Jordan, considered by many to be the greatest player of all time, won 6. Magic Johnson has 5 and Larry Bird has 3. Currently, Kobe Bryant has 5 rings to LeBron's 2. When Kobe was Lebron's age, he had 3. LeBron will probably gain one or two more rings until his time expires but it is highly unlikely that he will ever win as many rings as Kobe has, especially if he keeps switching teams.

I do agree with GDinary until they said," The number of championships a player wins reflects the quality of the player." A player cannot win championships on his own. Games are not simply won because of the quality of 'one' player. Lebron for many years has been searching to find the right set teammates to help and support him. Which he did find in Miami, but as more of a business man than a ball player, he chooses to take more money over the quality of his team. Considering the fact that he and the Miaimi heat went to the NBA playoffs 4 years in a row, and they won two. If he would stay in one place with a good team he could be alot better.
