Marijuana should be made legal in the United States of America. Studies conducted by numerous medical insttutes including the Boston University of medicine have concluded that smoking marijuana produces no health risks on the human body. Further studies actually show that marijuana can be used to replace many of our contreversal pharmesutical drugs such as ritilan and aderol for diseases such as ADD and ADHD. Although it has been difficult to expierment with marijuana due to its bad stigma sine the late 1930's doctors from all around the world including Spain and Israel are begning to use it as a primary care for cancer patients. Their studies show that marijuana can actually help kill cancer cells by helping the damaged cells remember how to die while leaving the healthy cells untouched. Marijuana does not only have to be used from medicine the plant which it comes from cannabis can be used to make endless amount of material. Part of the plant known as hemp can be used to make paper, clothes, oils and hemp seeds can even create fuel. The plant can be harvested so quickly that we could have nearly a endless supply of material. why are we destroying the earth by mining and cutting down forests which takes thousands of years of natural process when we can establish the same things using a plant that we can continuesly harvest. If marijuana was legalized it would open up a entire industry of agriculture. marijuana is by far Americas biggest potential cash crop just of the supply and demand alone. But the problem does not stop there legalizing marijuana would also help protect and secure our borders from drug cartels who smuggle weed into America. It would help our judicial system by not incriminating young men of color and sending them to jail for minor offenses making it nearly impossible to leave the revolving door process of our jail systems.
P1: Marijuana is smoke through out the united states of america regardless of age and gender is 100% correct and is a reason we should also look at as to why we shouldnt legalize it as it will increase teenagers and children usage as we see In "2011, the national average for youth aged 12 to 17 years old and considered "current" marijuana users was 7.64 percent which was the highest average since 1981. The most recent figures found for Alaska teens dates from 2009 and puts the number of students claiming to have used marijuana within the last 30 days at 22.7% and the number who have used the drug during their lifetime at 44.5%" which will only rise if legalized nationwide Source:http://www.aacop.org......
P2: Marijuana is a cash crop is not all the way true either as it is very costly as well " It is estimated that Alaskan police departments will have combined costs of nearly $6,000,000 to respond to immediate needs which will arise from legalization of marijuana. These costs include necessary training of police officers to establish drug impairment based on symptomology because there are no roadside tools like breathalyzers for testing marijuana usage, and for increasing the number of School Resource Officers (SROs) in communities to educate teens about the dangers of drug use. " a cost that will only be multiplied if legalized nationwide.
P3:Legalizing medical marijuana nationwide will only make it easier for illegal marijuana to be smuggled around and distributed as we see in After medicinal marijuana became easy to get in Colorado, seizures of smuggled marijuana quadrupled in roughly 4 years as "legal" marijuana was diverted to other markets . No comparable studies have been found addressing this problem in Alaska, but if legalization in this state results in a similar increase in diversion trafficking
C: Therefore we should not legalize marijuana in the united states
