I am still awaiting the instigator to begin debate. However, in case he is waiting for me to begin, I will state my first argument which is:

1) If a student did not neglect his/her studies, then he/she should obtain high marks. Only under the circumstances where a student does in fact neglect to work hard and study "smart" should he/she deserve low marks--a reflection of his/her failure to properly prepare for exams.
