Many benefits happens from music and art education
music education says that early musical training helps develop brain areas involved in language and reasoning

My opponent has forfeited. On to rebutting, seeing as he has not expanded his statements.

music education says that early musical training helps develop brain areas involved in language and reasoning
How do we know? What is the increase?
2. There ia also a causal link between music and spatial intelligence(the ability to perceive the word accurately and to form mental pictures of things)
How so? How do we know? Why does educating children on music differ from letting them listen to music.
3. Students of the arts learn to think creatively and to solve problems by imagining various
Solutions? How? How do we know? Why not just teach the kid to think creatively as opposed to making them draw bunnies?
4. students who study music happen to be succesful in standardized tests such as the SAT
How so? How does knowing what a bar is help someone answer a multiple choice question.
5. Students of music learn craftsmanship as they study how details are put together painstakingly.
How so? Why not just teach them craftmanship?

My argument:
Why teach two (expensive) classes when you can teach the benefits directly? (craftmanship, awareness, etc)?
