i negate the resolution that on balance, the rise of Brazil, Russia, India, and China (BRIC) has had a positive impact on the United States.

1)Brazil
•Deforestation

Brazil holds about one-third of the world's remaining rainforests, including a majority of the Amazon rainforest. Brazil has lost 34,660 square kilometers of forest per year since 2005. This effects humans, animals, and the climate

Climate change: It is well known that global warming is being caused largely due to emissions of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. However, what is not known quite as well is that deforestation has a direction association with carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere. Trees act as a major storage depot for carbon, since they absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, which is then used to produce carbohydrates, fats, and proteins that make up trees. When deforestation occurs, many of the trees are burnt or they are allowed to rot, which results in releasing the carbon that is stored in them as carbon dioxide. This, in turn, leads to greater concentrations of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

India
India, in spite of being a strong democracy for the last 60 years, has had internal conflicts that are based on caste, religion, ethnicity, and language. Its troubled relationship with its nuclear neighbor Pakistan and the militancy in Kashmir continue to distract the government and its resources in that country. If it is too focused on internal conflict or its neighbors it has not possible have time to contribute positively to the United States thereby proving that it has not contribute positively to the United States.

China: China's emergence as an economic power has raised
a number of concerns among some Members of Congress who perceive China as a
threat, or potential threat, to the U.S. economy. As one Member stated, "China's
competitive challenge makes Americans nervous. From Wall Street to Main Street,
Americans are nervous about China's effect on the American economy, American
jobs, on the American way of life."
The surge in U.S. imports from China is viewed by many as a threat to various U.S. economic sectors, particularly in manufacturing. China's nearly unlimited pool of low-cost labor is viewed by some as a serious competitive threat to U.S. manufacturing and is blamed for bankruptcies and/or plant relocation to China, job losses, and stagnant U.S. wages. This process could get worse as China begins to manufacture more advanced products that compete directly with those made by U.S. domestic firms

welll i completely disagree with you on these terms........The rise of brazil , russsia , china and india has had a positive impact on the us i feel....Not only these countries the development of any country in general is beneficial to the entire world in term of exapansion of economy.......AS far as the point about environmental pollution in brazil and cutting of rainforest having negative impact on us i cant get it,,.......If u r talking abt environmental degradation due to economic boost then the 1st effect is on brazil and moreover in the case of Environment degradation
Us environment and nature is the most exploited one....the indirect effect if u feel can have any impact on US then what is hAPPENING IN THE uS HAS A FAR WORSE effect .So there is a need of checking internal envirnonment degradation before blaming any country for it.Moreover it is a global issue and unless the people all over the world learn proper techniques for sustainable development then according to ur viewpoint all the countriews development will have bad effecton Us......
India is a very strong supporter of US in the international arena .whether has been fighting with terrorism together or the Us India deal or the grt economic trade b/w india and us in every way us has been a benefactor.........an important part of the Us head posts in companies is occupied by indians . if the exchange of ppl b/w india nd us stops then us will face a major setback ... hence had inida not developed it would have been us which would have to suffer......
