The government should be able to take control of private property in the dier need and for the better of the government.

"Private property is the ownership of property by non-governmental legal entities. Private property is distinguishable from public property, which is owned by a state entity" This is the definition of private property, if someone's property is PRIVATE, then that means no one should be able to change that unless you consent to that. That includes the government, on the other hand, if it is public property then the government can do whatever they want with it due to the fact that it is PUBLIC.

"Eminent domain has become a term of dread in our nation. Using the words "eminent domain" today is risky because the concept has been draped with negative news and connotations of property-owner abuse." Eminent domain has provided the nation with plenty of positive feedback we just seem to over look them. owners who are affected by eminent domain are alwasy compensated for their lose of land and inconvience.

That is true that everyone who is affected is compensated but it is not always enough. "Under eminent domain, the government buys your property, paying you what's determined to be fair market value." (Leung). Market value is not always a good thing. As everyone in the United States knows, the market is like a rollercoaster. Some weeks it might be up a lot as opposed to other weeks it may be down. That being said, the market value that the government would offer the home owner might be significantly low compared to what the owner paid initially. Another thing to consider besides the market value is the sentimental value. Has the home been in the family for decades? Is the home a piece of history? Or is it someones home that they grew up in. All of these considerations should be thought about because to the home owner that lives in the home, it could be a most likely is worth more to them than market value.

"Eminent domain can indeed be used to breathe new life into blighted areas, just as the New London leaders want to do. My company has been involved in thousands of eminent domain cases across the nation, and it is clearly evident to me that the use of eminent domain can lead to projects that stimulate economic rebirth."

sentimental value is very important to some but what is more important the safety of your family or sentimental value? some eminent domain is to rebuild areas that have fallen into poverty or corruption. what they are paid may be low to some people but its better than nothing.
