The only thing we can know for sure is mathematics. Anything else has a certain level of unknowability. Therefore, one cannot claim blankly that religion is not true.

religion is religion, so a religion cant be true it would contradict itself when there are other religions contradicting it

My opponent has stated something as a fact yet provided no evidence or reason for me to believe him. Here are two definitions of religion from the Merriam Webster Dictionary.

(1) : the service and worship of God or the supernatural (2) : commitment or devotion to religious faith or observance

The worship of God or the supernatural is not contradictory to itself. They may not all be right, but this does not mean they are automatically all wrong.

Religion is religion. Yes. Just as words are words, lies are lies, and food is food. This in no way indicates whether or not the religion in question is incorrect/not true.
