I think that school should start later because kids will be more awake, aware and able to learn, and while school day will end later, is that really a good reason not to start school later? Also, for smaller children, it would be more convenient for parents, since they wouldn't need to get up early either

School should not start any later because then it will be later in the day when children are able to get home and spend time with their families. Also there are parents that will have to pay for somebody to take their children to school if school starts while they are at work. Also if there are older children that have to walk home they will have to walk in the dark if school gets out later and that can be scary and stressing for parents.

It is scientifically proven that kids learn better when they are well rested, and could do better to reach their full potential and may get in trouble less at school. Kids will not be late for school and will do better on tests and pay better attention to their lessons. Many children do not get a full 8.5 to 9.5 hours of rest, pediatricians have cited multiple risks of lack of sleep including higher obesity rates and depression. recent large scale studies also show risks of potential chronic tiredness.

Students who begin school earlier have more time for after-school jobs and activities; schools may benefit by saving some money; and parents might find that an early start works better with their schedules. Also with the growing problem of childhood obesity, children who participate in outdoor activities and sports get the exercise they need and develop habits that can help them avoid this problem and keep themselves physically fit. This is according to http://www.sheknows.com.... Also it is the child's responsibility to go to bed early enough to get a good amount of sleep because if children sleep in because they know that they can stay up later they might spend their time at night at parties or doing things that are not good for them such as drugs or alcohol. Plus building up the habit of getting up early enough is good for when children grow up and they have to get to work at a certain time or be somewhere early.

I think school hours should stay the same. Like the previous person who commented, children should go to sleep earlier so they don't have trouble staying awake during school. It would be an inconvenience for adults if children went to school later considering that most adults work in the morning.

Student should go to bed earlier so getting up early is not a problem. A later start time would greatly interfere with adult work time start hours. They would have to obtain before hours day care. Outdoor sports during the winter would be eliminated due to students still being in class, as the sun sets early this time of year.
