I feel that school uniforms should be mandatory as they eradicate the thin line, especially in girls, of being rich and not so rich. I feel that a person is rich when she or he has a beautiful heart with a resplendent mind rather than having 100 different types of boots. it creates a pressure on student who don't or can't dress up so well.

Clothes allow students to express themselves. Unifoms can also get dirty, lost, ripped, or other conditions that make them unwearable. And People being conscious of what other people think of them should be a way of thinking expelled at birth. No one in schools care who is rich or not, or what you wear, if anything, only your face and personality is judged. Uniforms also don't affect academics or sports any way positively. They are just a waste of money for schools that is fixing a fake problem.

"schools should be schools and not fashion shows!"
there I agree with you, my friend, that clothes help to express but somewhere down there students become intimated by the fact of dressing up well for the school. rather uniforms help students to concentrate more on studies rather than on clothes, it creates a uniformity and a discipline in the school campus. also it saves time in a way children don't have to think much.

I don't think anyone is intimidated by dressing up for school, seeing as how the stereotypical high school in movies does not really exist. Also, students during class are usually concentrated in studies instead of clothes anyway, unless someone is wearing something so ridiculous they can't take their eyes off of it. Even if schools had uniforms, people would still be getting judged even though they would be wearing the same thing. Finally, schools in poor places cannot afford uniforms.
